Canticle & Juniper Courts

December 8, 2017 By Shakespeare Leave a Comment

Canticle Fun Friday

Safe, secure, affordable housing options are critical for low income seniors. In the absence of affordable housing options, community seniors could experience social isolation, loss of dignity and restricted lifestyles.

Our friend Amy, (who happens to be on the Board of The Canticle & Juniper Courts Foundation) was happy to point us in the direction of one local charity working to solve this problem.

Canticle & Juniper Courts are affordable senior living apartments located on the historic grounds of the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi, across Lake Drive from Lake Michigan, in St. Francis, WI.

These senior living apartments are nestled on a serene campus that includes fruit trees, a breath-taking grape arbor, and a park-like setting.

At Canticle & Juniper Courts, our commitment is to provide an atmosphere that empowers individuals to live active, dignified, and healthy lifestyles.

The staff at Canticle & Juniper Courts understands that when considering a new place to live, many older adults may fear the loss of their familiar environments with concerns about limitations of their freedom, and worries that the activities they enjoy will no longer be available to them.

Take it from our residents – the Courts are their home!

“I always knew I’d come live here. I wish I would have moved in 10 years earlier.” Ruth

“It was like coming home. The quiet and peace is amazing. It’s so comfortable here.” Jo

“Some people look out onto a street, I look out onto this beautiful area.” Gert

“This place does wonders for a person. Instead of being alone, I am among friends.” Rose

“There is always something to do. I love to help with the gardening or read in the library.” Ken

“The staff is wonderful. They make it feel like home. You are part of a community.” Rod

Canticle & Juniper Courts welcome older adults to reside in affordable housing in a caring community that sustains healthy, independent, dignified living.

The Canticle & Juniper Courts Foundation was created to raise funds for renovations and improvements to the buildings and services of The Courts. Though each facility receives some amount of government assistance, these monies are used to maintain current conditions and guarantee the buildings will remain available to our residents.

Only through the generous support of our contributors are we able to provide high-quality, affordable housing to the increasing number of low income seniors in our community.

The goal of The Canticle and Juniper Courts Foundation is to enable our residents to benefit from additional accommodations necessary to live independently. Some of these include:

  • step-in bath tubs
  • repaved parking lots
  • new elevators
  • keyless entry
  • well-maintained buildings
  • grounds improvements

The Canticle and Juniper Courts Foundation believes that quality of life should not be based on income. Any amount donated will help bridge the gap between what is and what can be.

This week we are donating $100 to The Canticle and Juniper Courts Foundation.
