The Spice of Life:
A History & Tasting of Spices
Thursday, October 8 | 2:00-4:00pm
Ingleside Hotel
Join us for a presentation on the fascinating history of spices, including many of the familiar flavors Americans associate with baking and the holiday season.
We’ll explore the historical, cultural, economic, and medicinal significance of spices, with a special look at the remarkable history of nutmeg. Learn how peppercorns, cardamom, cinnamon, cassia, nutmeg, and mace are grown and harvested, how different varieties compare, and tips for buying and storing spices at home.
Of course, the best way to learn about spices is to experience them! Throughout the presentation, we will have the opportunity to see, smell, and taste a variety of spices through an interactive tasting experience.
Complimentary beverages and light appetizers will be served. Friends and family are welcome!
